Emerging Artists Group Show 2018 in Hong Kong
Albert Tsoi Yau Cheong
Albert Tsoi is currently an art student learning at the Hong Kong Design Institute. He has a dynamic approach to photography, drawing. Rather than seeking to capture or create the magnificent of the image, he aims to naturally evoke the moderation between people and nature, also to explore the infinite possibilities in illustration combined with photography.
With a mere 9 years behind the viewfinder, Albert’s photographs often focus upon themes of mass scale, showcasing architecture and the urban culture around the world. It might have related to his early solo backpacking trips around Tibet, where he desired to capture and reveal the unknown but existent original customs and natural scenery in China.
Influenced by Hiroshi Sugimoto, Albert is also a supporter of traditional daguerreotype that still persists in shooting 35mm and medium format film for many of his photographs and mixed-media projects.
