Kin (MAK Chi Kin) is a fun and challenged creator. His themes frequently tackle the topic of social experiences, which is mostly about the interpersonal and social topics. He specializes in drawing, painting, and installation, created in abstract and surrealistic style.

 

His creations are about the happenings that surround him. In his early secondary school life, he was influenced by some events. "Because I was too bored from the Chinese lessons, I doodled a scene of Hua Mulan (a traditional Chinese heroine) riding on a large penis. I got caught by the teacher and was supposed to go for the detention but I escaped. I guess he was inspired by my painting because nothing happened after this." he said. Due to this, he began to mix different elements and came to the realization that he should chase the art ambitions. His artwork finally gains recognition from his teachers.  

 

Influenced by Chinese artist Wei Lin, Kin’s paintings merged words with life experience continuously. He believes that the imaginations of youngsters are too weak for abstract painting. He hopes the cooperation of these words and paintings would stimulate the imagination. The story of life and young people's interest can be seen through his work.

 

In the future, he will continue to work with paint. Also, experiment with various materials and methods for brainstorming new inspirations.

 

麥志健是個俏皮和喜歡挑戰的創作人。作品以繪畫和裝置藝術為主，畫作多以抽象和超現實風格去探討人和社會的關係。

 

他的創作都是關於圍繞他身邊的事，受中學事期的事件影響，他說：「在初中時，因為不滿上中文課太無聊，塗鴉了一幅花木蘭乘著大陰莖的畫，之後被訓導老師罰留堂，但他似乎領悟到我畫中之意，所以就算我偷走了也沒有事後追究。」因為這件事，他開始將不同的事物融合在他的畫中，展開了他的藝術之路，也漸漸得到老師們的欣賞。

 

受到中國藝術家衛林影響，麥志健的畫作持續以文字和事物融合去創作，並認為年青一代對抽象畫的想像力太低，藉此希望由文字和畫的配合刺激想像力。可見麥志健的作品中略帶有故事性和青年人的生活趣味。

 

未來他會延續繪畫方面的創作，也會嘗試不同的物料和方法去刺激新靈感。
