Kira Louise Morris

Born and raised in Hong Kong, visual artist and graphic designer Kira Louise Morris draws inspiration from the natural and urban environments around her, from the diverse culture, lifestyle and rich history of her hometown. Within her art, she experiments with many mediums such as drawing, photography, graphic arts, ceramics, sculptural installation and digital media. Creating delicate contrasts with colors, patterns, shapes, and designs exploring the world and natural resources at her fingertips.

Her interest in art and design began at an early age and she specialized her education around it. Studying both art and design subjects at IGCSE’s and continuing her education with a Foundation Diploma in Design. Recently completing her Higher Diploma in Visual Arts and Culture, she uses skills from her education to explore her creativity in a range of forms and disciplines, while receiving professional training in all her chosen art forms.

Recently in her art, she has focused more on environmental issues and raising awareness for them. Topics such as marine pollution and plastics are a natural choice for her growing up surrounded by the ocean where she can witness the damaging effects man has on one of the worlds most precious resources. Sustainability is a key part of her works and message, she looks ways of reusing and repurposing plastics to create her artworks.

Another passion of Kira’s is graphic design using professional software such as Photoshop, Illustration, and InDesign. For Kira graphic design started as a hobby and developed and grew into a passion throughout her design courses and a soldier with her internship with Creative Studio Beware the Lunatic giving her opportunity to create designs for real clients. An example of one of her projects, for a personal client, is the logo design created for online wellness store Oh My Goodies. Her designs cover a range of styles catering to clients needs, but she prefers a modern minimalistic style with a pop of color.
